Loosely speaking, the Southern Caribbean collects the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the Windward Islands (including Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, and Grenada), the Leeward Islands, and some coastal regions of mainland South America, such as Venezuela and Colombia. The Leeward Islands may be visited on an Eastern Caribbean cruise also. A little further off the beaten track, the South Caribbean is the destination for those travelers looking to enjoy the beauty of the region without the harried feeling of some of the busier tourist havens in this part of the world. Due to its relatively undeveloped nature, many of its islands are practically untouched, offering visitors the true feeling of a tropical paradise.
